Mulock Park in Newmarket: 5 Things Worth Knowing
· Sergey Luhavy
Mulock Park opened on September 18, 2026, turning a former private estate at Yonge Street and Mulock Drive into a 16-acre public space. Here are five reasons to explore Newmarket’s newest park.
- Woodland walks: Nearly two kilometres of paved paths wind through the grounds. The Town says the park has approximately 950 trees, including about 490 newly planted ones.
- Play that feels close to nature: Hollow Log Play Park combines sand, water and climbing elements, including features made with wood salvaged from the site.
- Art and history: Restored Mulock House displays works from the Art Gallery of Ontario’s Indigenous and Canadian collections.
- Something for every season: Cedar Circle has a seasonal water play area; the 340-metre refrigerated Woodland Loop is designed for winter skating. Check operating updates before visiting.
- Room to linger: Open lawns, gardens and public art make the park a place for a picnic or a slower afternoon walk.
What did it cost?
Final costs have not yet been confirmed publicly. NewmarketToday reported the Town’s late-2025 estimates as $64.2 million for the park, $14.3 million for Mulock House and $3.2 million for parking.
